What’s up with the blog?

*taps the mic and screams into the void*

Is this thing on?

As you might have noticed my blogging, and in fact most my online presence, has been less than it was in previous years. I started blogging in 2007 or 2008, and for the most part have kept a regular online diary of various goings-on. I’ve talked about everything from my mental health to publication goals. I’ve blogged about cookies, tornadoes, zombie apocalypses, and cupcakes. I’ve written about writing, editing, publishing, diversity, and languages. I haven’t covered everything under the sun, but still, I feel we’ve covered a respectable portion of the writing world together, this blog and I.

And now it’s time for a little bit of a change.

Life happens. You find new interests, outgrow old interests, repurpose things to better fit your current situation. That’s what’s happening here. The blog is going to stay, but it’s going to take a back seat to other avenues of communication.

In the next few weeks going to LianaBrooks.com won’t take you to the blog, but to a static landing page. From there you’ll be able to navigate to everything else, plus see updates on the newest happenings. The blog will be on a separate page, easy to find, and updated as regularly as it has been (which is to say – not a lot). It’s not a huge change, just a small one that will help new readers navigate the website with ease.

Happy reading, everyone!
